What makes the first floor of the villa unique is the authenticity of its halls, dining rooms and bedrooms. Since 1903 the interior has not been changed. Its furniture, walls and frescos are the same and were never retouched. The signs of the times have not been deleted, so as to preserve fragments of Sicilian life and culture belonging to a foregone past intact.
The style of the interior is typical of the villas of the nobility built between the end of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth centuries.
The best local artisans created sumptuous detail and decoration in the shape of landscape frescos, magnificent satin wallpaper, vases and preciously manufactured furnishings from Caltagirone that provide the rooms with the unmistakable taste of the local nobility.
All of this makes the Palazzo an ideal setting for private parties, exclusive dinners but also photographic and video shootings. In fact, Palazzo Castro Grimaldi was the set of some of the scenes of the renowned television series “Il commissario Montalbano”.
Only the first floor (piano nobile) is for rent. The larger part of the building cannot be visited as it is still in need of restoration, which the activities of the Palazzo will help to realize.
